Rajinder Pal Singh Grover | Candidate in Kolding (KV25)

Candidate for the 2025 Municipal Election

I want integration to be a two-way street, better conditions for children and young people, and a city centre with more character and everyday life. My goal is a Kolding where more people feel seen, heard, and invited in.
Who am I ?
My name is Rajinder Pal Singh Grover. I moved to Denmark in 2014 and chose to embrace a new life of opportunities, challenges, and community here in Kolding. Since then, Denmark has become my home—not only geographically, but in values, culture, and spirit.
I’ve built friendships, started a family, and worked alongside people from all walks of life—both Danes and internationals. Along the way, I learned that integration isn’t assimilation; it’s about belonging—and helping others belong.
As a long-time volunteer, activist, and founder of the Expats Association of Kolding (TEAK), I help newcomers navigate life in Denmark: finding jobs, understanding local systems, learning the language, and joining something bigger than themselves.
I also see how many international residents feel invisible in local politics. Not because they don’t care, but because they are rarely invited into the conversation. That’s why I’m running for Kolding’s city council: representation matters, and it’s time our local democracy reflects the diversity and strengths of our whole community.
My priorities
-

Integration — both ways
TOGETHER
Integration must be mutual, where new and long-time residents meet at eye level. Municipal services should be accessible in Danish and English, so everyone can use them from day one.
-

Jobs & equal opportunities
WORK
More people in work means building bridges between companies and new talent—and lowering barriers to that crucial first job in Denmark. We’ll promote inclusive recruitment and support international entrepreneurs with advice and networks.
-

Everyday mobility that works
MOBILITY
Transport should never block access to education, work, or community. I support free local buses for students and seniors, plus more frequent, better-connected routes—also in evenings and on weekends.
-

Better, affordable housing
LIVING
Kolding needs more homes that ordinary people can afford—in new and existing neighbourhoods. We’ll prioritise affordable housing and give tenants easy access to independent information, counselling, and timely help.
-

Digital inclusion & access
DIGITAL
Everyone should be able to use municipal digital services without getting stuck in forms. Let’s make self-service user-friendly, mobile-friendly, and multilingual—and offer free digital courses and in-person help at libraries.
-

More safety and trust
YOUTH
Safety grows when police, the municipality, associations, and neighbours work together. We’ll strengthen neighbourhood watch, community dialogue meetings, and local conflict resolution—preventing problems early and building everyday trust.
-

Stronger mental health
HEALTH
Help must be easy to find and feel relevant to each person. We’ll create a single front door, cut waiting times, and offer culturally competent programmes and open conversation spaces that connect people to strong communities.
-

Building for the future
CLIMATE
Let’s plan our city for the climate of tomorrow—with shade, trees, rain gardens, and cooler public spaces. New areas should be built greener and more resilient, so homes and neighbourhoods stand strong against both heat and cloudbursts.
